Terms of Service

Rules and responsibilities for using FocusRoom AI.

Last updated: August 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of FocusRoom AI at focusroom.cloud. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use FocusRoom. If local law requires permission from a parent or legal guardian, you must obtain that permission before using the service.

The service is not directed to children under 13.

3. Accounts and security

  • Provide accurate registration information.
  • Keep your password and devices secure.
  • Do not share, sell, transfer, or impersonate another account.
  • Notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
  • You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

4. Rooms and live sessions

FocusRoom provides public and private study rooms with camera, microphone, screen-sharing, chat, timer, reporting, and moderation features.

Live media generally travels between participants through WebRTC and may use a TURN relay when a direct connection is unavailable. Service quality depends on devices, browsers, networks, and third-party infrastructure.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not harass, threaten, bully, stalk, exploit, or discriminate against another person.
  • Do not share illegal, sexually exploitative, violent, hateful, fraudulent, or privacy-invasive content.
  • Do not expose passwords, financial information, identity documents, or other sensitive information during a session.
  • Do not record or distribute another participant's image, audio, screen, messages, or personal information without all permissions required by law.
  • Do not send spam, malware, automated abuse, or deceptive links.
  • Do not bypass room passwords, bans, capacity controls, rate limits, authentication, or security measures.
  • Do not probe, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Do not use FocusRoom for examinations or activities where outside communication is prohibited.

6. User content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant FocusRoom a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, process, display, and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content and sharing activities comply with law and do not violate another person's rights.

7. Room-owner controls

Room owners may remove participants, issue temporary room bans, protect rooms with passwords, and manage participation. These tools must not be used for unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or abuse.

Removal from one room does not necessarily suspend a user's FocusRoom account.

8. Reports and moderation

Participants may report suspected violations. Administrators may review reports and update moderation status. We may investigate, preserve relevant information, restrict access, remove content, or suspend accounts where reasonably necessary.

Reports do not guarantee a particular outcome. Knowingly false, abusive, or retaliatory reports may themselves violate these terms.

9. Account deletion and termination

You may permanently delete your account through Settings. Deleting an account may also delete rooms you own and affect other participants' access to those rooms.

We may restrict or terminate access when we reasonably believe these terms, applicable law, security requirements, or the rights of others have been violated.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination remain effective, including ownership, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions.

10. Service availability

FocusRoom may change, interrupt, limit, or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal, or operational reasons.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific video quality, message delivery, permanent storage, or any particular academic or productivity result.

11. Intellectual property

FocusRoom's software, branding, interface, and original service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of those materials.

You may not use FocusRoom branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without permission.

12. Third-party services

The service relies on infrastructure, networking, browser, database, and hosting providers. Third-party links and services may have separate terms and privacy practices that FocusRoom does not control.

13. Disclaimers

FocusRoom is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

FocusRoom is not an emergency, medical, legal, financial, examination-proctoring, or professional-advice service.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, FocusRoom is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without limiting mandatory rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

Before starting formal proceedings, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the issue informally where appropriate.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or applicable requirements change. Material changes will be identified by an updated date and, where appropriate, an in-service notice.

Continued use after updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
